Wojo Studios was founded by a software engineer who has spent his career inside complicated environments — systems that are operationally important, incompletely documented, and difficult to change safely. The kind of work where the first job is not writing code, but figuring out how things actually work.
That experience shaped how the studio operates. Good engineering starts with understanding the business: what the process really is, where it breaks, and what “fixed” genuinely means to the people who do the work. Only then does architecture make sense, and only then is code worth writing.
We prefer durable, understandable systems over clever ones. We handle both the architecture and the hands-on implementation, because separating the two is where most projects go wrong. And we hold ourselves to a simple standard: build things we would be glad to maintain, explain them honestly, and leave every system more understood than we found it.
